Amazon Associates

To sign up for Amazon you need to click the  Monetize  tab from your Dashboard. Once you sign up you will have to put a snippet code in your CSS  page (Edit HTML) of your blog.

Amazon is a great way to make money if you know how to use it. Now you don't want to place random Amazon ads in your blog. They need to be directed towards your content. For Example, if I have a blog about movie reviews. Now lets say I just posted the review about Batman The Dark Knight. Now if people are on your blog looking at that post, they already have interest in that movie. So they are more likely to buy sometime about this movie. You would want to post some type of  Amazon ad for that movie in your post for this movie. Amazon has a wide range of products for sale so make use of them when you can. 

Don't waste space in widget areas with  Amazon. Amazon strictly you get paid if they buy. So  for your widget areas your better off going with  Adsense or Adbrite. These pay you for  people viewing  or clicking them.

Don't post random ads.  If  your on this site now you want to learn about Blogger. You don't want to see  ads trying to sale you movies or games.  And the likelihood of you click  and buying one is very slim.

You may have a site that is strictly about buying products. If this is the case then make use of the types of products you have for sale. Your probably not going to have much traffic if your site does not specialize in a type of product. No one is going to come on a site and look though ads about buying shoes and BAM a video game ad in the middle of them. Then go hmmmm  Assassin's Creed 2,  I think I will buy it. Not likely going to happen.  See I just placed a ad for it right there. Are you going to buy it?

Amazon search box is good on sites with lots of traffic or sites that deal with buying products. No point in placing a Amazon search box  on a site that don't get much traffic or is not a  product site. The reason being is that its not likely someone will come on your site to look at Blogger tips and tricks and have a random urge to shop. Some of you are saying right now "Well you don't know my wife".    Yes  if I was to place one on this site and I sold something from it. I could almost promise you it was a girl that bought it.    Now if you have a large scale of traffic on your site it might not be a bad idea. Yeah you may not sale much but their is that random person that may buy something.

So  The best way to use  Amazon ads is to use them to complement your content and post.
